Hi everyone!! First, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been following my photography journey, and all who have supported me! You all know who you are, and I am truly thankful for your words of encouragement and friendship! Thanks.

And now, I am SO excited to share with you all my new website and blog!! I am going to be leaving this blog up, so I can always look back at it - but from now on I will be posting over at www.lizloviblog.com and my new portfolio + info is over at www.lizlovi.com!!! Shannon + Jason - Paradise Ridge Winery Wedding {Sonoma County}

It had been raining off and on the week before their wedding day. But not even a little rain could ruin this day...and they say that it's good luck if it rains on your wedding day! It sprinkled on and off throughout, but the skies parted and the sun shined down right as we were headed to Paradise Ridge Winery! The venue looked on onto golden vineyards, and as the sun set, the skies turned shades of pink and purple. It was a beautiful.

Shannon and Jason grew up down the street from each other, but it wasn't until years later at a mutual friends wedding did they run into each other again. And little did they know that they would be spending the rest of their lives together. On their wedding day, they were surrounded by friends and family who love them so much. There wasn't a dry eye during the speeches, and everyone was having the time of their lives on the dance floor!!

Thank you both for having me there to capture such a special day and I hope you are enjoying your first few weeks as Mr. and Mrs.!! Here are just few of my favorite images from the day, but be sure to watch the SLIDESHOW for even more <3

The Little Details...

There is something about the little details that get me on a wedding day. Whether it be the brides little handkerchief and purse that was her grandmothers, or the shoes she decides to wear as she walks down the aisle to say "I Do", or even as simple as a little curl in her hair...these are the details that I know might not be important to everyone else, but I know are important to her...and it makes me happy to be able to capture these moments.

Today I'm sharing some images from my last trip to LA! Mike and I live pretty far away from my family...so everytime we visit, I tend to take lots and lots of pictures!! Most of my pictures tend to be of my nephews lol. I love them, and I can't believe how fast they grow up!! Last month we ventured down to LA for the Disneyland 1/2 Marathon (more about the run in a separate post :) Here are just a few of my favorite images from that trip :)

Celebrating Friendship...

Aww, the fall is here, and what a good way to ring in the change of seasons with a get-together with some of my besties!! What could be better than hanging out with good friends, eating delish food, drinking fine wine, and playing none other than our favorite games Catch Phrase and Uno :) Cheers to good times, and good friends...these are the moments I cherish and hold close to my heart!

Bay Area Wedding Photographer {Shannon + Tommy} Sonoma Garden Pavilion

I smiled as I drove onto the grounds of the Sonoma Garden Pavilion. I smiled because the venue felt like Shannon and Tommy. It was perfect. I walked into where the ladies were getting ready, and I felt like I was in this magical, Anthropologie like room with amazing light, high ceilings and bookcases that lined the walls. Shannon was relaxing with her bridesmaids, who were all SO amazing! Tommy arrived soon after, began getting ready in the pool house with his groomsmen (also an amazing group of men)…and then the events of the day unfolded perfectly.

Tommy is also a photographer, and I knew how important photography played a part of their wedding day! They opted for a ‘first look’ which, was amazing.amazing.amazing and gave me time with just the two of them before the rest of the events of the day began! I love this moment and Tommy’s reaction to his stunning bride was priceless.

Tommy and Shannon, you two are amazing. Really. I feel like I have said amazing so many times already, but it is true. The love that you two have for each other is beautiful and I was honored to be there to document your day. There were so many times during the day where I even felt emotional, and it was because everyone there was so happy. So happy for you both, and so excited for this day! So thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to capture such a beautiful day! I love you both!

Their love story began years ago...friends growing up together, moved away to different towns to then be reacquainted years later. Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. I ended off last week with an image of Shannon and Tommy's engagement session...and I'm starting off this weekend with one from their WEDDING :) Yay!

I love the first dance between the bride and groom. It's such a special moment. I find myself stepping back and just smiling (and sometimes tearing up too!)...it's such a beautiful and emotional moment!

I wanted to share just one image for now {more to come} of the beautiful and handsome...{Mr.+Mrs.} Shannon and Tommy!!

I loved how relaxed and fun this family session was...just playing around in the backyard and having a good time! I photographed the twins when they were six months old...and look at them now...so grown up...and with a new little brother!!

500 Days of Summer.

If you don't already know, one of my all time favorite movies is 500 Days of Summer. It tops the cake with 'The Notebook' (I heart you Noah!) and 'Beaches'. Yes Beaches...I still cry everytime I watch it. But back to 500 Days of Summer, there is just something about this movie that I love. Maybe it's the love story...or as it says in the beginning of the movie...it's not your typical love story...you will just have to watch the movie to find out what he means by that ;)

Summertime...Just Because

It's been such a wonderful and busy summer! Bay Area Wedding Photographer - Lori + Joe {Alameda : Merlot Commodore Yacht}

An intimate gathering of close friends and family boarded the Merlot Commodore Yacht to witness Lori and Joe become husband and wife. The weather was perfect, the details matched their style, and there was excitement in the air. Lori and Joe, I couldn't be more happy for the both of you...and your family! There were many times throughout the day that I just stood back and smiled (and wiped a tear). I witnessed two hearts coming together as one. Two souls meant to be together. Two people in love. The way you both looked at each other was just magical. Ryeleigh is such a lucky little girl to have you both as parents!

Thank you for having me there to document such a wonderful day...and especially sailing around the bay...amazing! Now I can say I have sailed underneath the Golden Gate Bridge :)

I met Shannon and Tommy at Starbucks a few months ago to talk about their upcoming wedding. While Tommy went to get us coffee (so sweet might I add), Shannon began telling about all the details for their soon to be wedding day...well, right then I knew that they were the PERFECT couple for me! And then recently, when we began discussing details for their engagement session...lets just say that I couldn't wait! Sunflowers, mason jars (they had me at mason jars), bikes, maps...oh all the details made me happy!

Then, thier love story...what's not to love about it. Friends since the 8th grade, years passed, miles apart, and one day they were connected again...and this time their connection will last forever!

Shannon and Tommy, seriously, you two are the best! Thank you for waking up so early on a Saturday morning, and spending time in front of my camera! The love between you two is just beautiful, and I cannot, wait until your wedding day in September!! Look So Lovely...otherwise known as LSL was created by one of my dearest friends Lauren! You have to check out her blog if you are ever in the need of some awesome inspiration :) The two of us got together for lunch recently in San Francisco, and of course I brought along my camera to snap a few photos of her! I thought I'd ask her a few questions too, so that you all could get to know her more, and find out how LSL was born :)

LL: "What made you start a blog?"

LJ: I was really interested in having a creative outlet in my life. I have always been interested in fashion, interior design and different ways to decorate, but I don't have any formal education on the subject, just my opinions. I work a standard 8-5 desk job that didn't allow for a whole lot of creativity and I felt like something was missing. I read a bunch of blogs daily and felt really inspired to try it on my own, it was more of a "why not" moment that got me started.

LL: "What was the inspiration behind the name LOOK SO LOVELY"

LJ: Well, there isn't much too this title other than I tend to always say to myself when I see something that catches my eye..."look so lovely!" And, I thought it was a much better blog title than amaze balls! ;)

LL: "What are your favorite websites/blogs to go to for inspiraton"

LJ: Narrowing it down will be hard, but some of my favorites are:

Young House Love- which is this great blog about a family and fixing up their home, it's full of inspiration for decorating tips, all kinds of home DIY projects, and they are pretty cute to read about. (this site was my first real taste of blogs and the one that really got me wanting to do my own.) Design*Sponge- which is this great resource center of all types of projects (design & DIY), inspirational pictures, and a really helpful site for anyone that is new to the blogging world, with lots of resident advice. Coco+Kelley- great interiors and fashion, the main star behind this blog just got signed on to one of my favorite online mags, Rue.
Also, Elements of Style, Design Love Fest , Mrs. Lilien are fab. And of course, my favorite fashion blogger, The Satorialist.

"How is Holly doing?” is one of the first things that Mark asked me when I saw him...and right there I knew that this was going to be such a special day! Mark and Holly met through mutual friends while living in Hawaii, and little did they know that fast forward to 2011, they would be walking down the aisle and becoming husband and wife. Guest and family members came from near and far to witness these two come together as one! After all the speeches, Holly stood up and spoke a few words. She said that she didn’t think she would be able to say anything without crying, then she looked at her husband with a trembling voice and said “Home is not an address…home is being with you". There wasn’t a dry eye in the room; including mine.

Holly and Mark…your wedding day was magical. Thank you for having me there to document such a important part of your lives. I have no doubt that you will spend the rest of your lives just as happy as you were on your wedding day; if not happier!

Wedding Wednesday {Coco + James Wedding // Short Film}

On this Wedding Wednesday, my dear friend Lauren of "Look So Lovely" (be sure to check out her blog!) sent me a wedding video (short film) that she came across on one of her fashion blogs and she totally fell in love with it, and I can see why! 'It is the wedding of Model, Coco Rocha and her new hubby, James Conran on June 9th 2010 in the Loire valley of France'. Instant swoon! Everything about this wedding is magical. The location, the details, the flowers, her dress...ahh, her Zac Posen dress is to die for! I laughed, I smiled and I teared up watching this video. The love felt throughout this wedding is beautiful...It makes me want to get married all over again :)

Wedding Wednesday {Little Bit of Inspiration} We Heart It

"We Heart It" is a website that I have fallen in love with...you can 'heart' images from that website and images that you see on other websites. It's very similar to Pinterest. If you haven't checked out either one of these sites, don't...just kidding lol...they can become very addicting lol!!

Here are a few images that jump out at me. These are things that I love. And they make me happy.

This is a great website for all you future brides out there...lots of great inspiration!!

Walk Through a Wedding {Workshop} - Justin + Mary Marantz

Last year I attended Justin and Mary Marantz "Spread the Love" workshop. There I was, my first workshop, in a room surrounded by photographers...awesome photographers...and I did not know a single person. As I sat there listening to Mary talk about her life, Justin talking more about life and about the business, and the both of them talking about "Why" they do what they do, I was inspired. Totally.Inspired! I walked out of that room with a new outlook not only on photography, but about life.

This year...when I saw that Justin and Mary were coming back to San Francisco I got excited. I got excited because this year, in addition to their "Spread the Love tour" they were also holding an all day "Walk Through a Wedding" workshop!! I knew that I had to attend. This year, I didn't feel alone. My wedding photographer turned friend, Gladys (hi Gladys) and I carpooled together, and I met my friend Shea there (hi Shea) and Emily (hello Emily)...and I met a lot more wonderful photographers!!

Justin and Mary, THANK YOU for being the people you are. Thank you for being so open, so generous, and so helpful...you shared so much of your lives with us, and I am truly honored that I had the chance to learn from you both.

Such a beautiful dress...

They showed us a few tips on where to position purfume bottles and accesories...

Elizabeth looked absolutely beautiful...thank you to Lisa from Lisa's Hair-N-Makeup for her amazing make-up and hair!

All of us couldn't help but snap a few images of Elizabeth and Ryan as we waited outside of the church!

Justin and Mary showed us how a little off camera flash casts a slight glow behind the bride as she walks down the aisle!

See...look at this amazing light...and this is how Ryan was gazing at his wife the whole day :)

Since the 1940's theme of the workshop was "Boxcars and Bugle Boys" the reception part was held at "Bourbon & Branch" in San Francisco. We were lead down to what felt like an secret, underground room, that was transformed into such a cool reception...with the most incredible details.

Gah...love this typewriter!!

Many, many thanks to Julia for not only being the cutest candy girl ever, but for just being awesomely (is that a word) cool, and for helping set up this amazing reception!!

Not only are Elizabeth and Ryan beautiful models, but they are also photographers!

The workshop focused a lot on off camera lighting, something that I haven't always used. I love the way these images turned out...lighting can have such a different affect on the way an image turns out.

I am SO excited to share this engagement session!! Not only are these two the cutest, most beautiful people ever...but Jaclyn is my cousin!! We had such a fun day roaming around Crissy Field in the city, then heading over the the Palace of Fine Arts! It was a perfect day in the city, a little windy, but the love felt between these two is magical!! Jaclyn and Matt, thank you for having me document such an exciting and wonderful time in your lives!! Congrats again on your engagement and I wish you lots of love and happiness!!
